Calling all herpetologists! Did you know that the Calling all herpetologists!

Did you know that the endangered California red- legged frog is the official California state amphibian? 

Join us at Fairfield Osborn preserve this Sunday! It’s Mother’s Day so bring your mom. You’ll have a chance to learn about the volcanic geology of Osborn Fairfield preserve, talk about research projects by Sonoma State University students with the red-legged frog, and we might have an opportunity to gather some specimens for science.

Photographs from our outing at North Sonoma Mounta Photographs from our outing at North Sonoma Mountain on March 30th! We have three more hikes coming up. There is space in our newest hike at Osborn Fairfield Preserve called Vipers and Volcanoes. We will hike to the highest part of the preserve and learn about Vipers, Volcanoes, and Red-legged frogs. The other hikes have waitlists, but the list is short, so you have a good chance of getting in if you sign up. They explore the Sonoma Vernal Pools and the newly transferred land from SDC to Jack London State Historic Park. Link to events page above and in bio.
